Hello,
In today’s diary entry I will attempt to properly articulate how the past week at work has been for me.
Unfortunately, I cannot promise you a lesson.
I reckon that this is one of the phases we have to go through as we climb up the rungs of our career.
I do hope you enjoy it and if you are able to relate with my experience, please let me know in the comments.

CATCH UP
Given that I have sent 2 newsletters in the past couple of days, there is nothing much to catch up on.
Nigeria had the second phase of our general elections bringing the election and campaign season to a close.
I finished reading another book in one night, which is absolutely amazing because that makes it 3.5 books in 3 months and at this rate, it will probably become 5 books in 3 months.
Jollz who? (this is my attempt at cracking another joke😅).
WORK UPDATE
I realized that as exciting as my role is, work has now taken on a monotonous pattern. This monotonous pattern is not exciting, and I now know that work will not always be exciting.
It may or may not be a tad difficult for my energetic, Gen Z self to get with the current system which is why I am looking for ways to spruce things up so that I do not get bored out of my mind.
This is such unfamiliar territory because prior to now, I could have sworn that I absolutely love work.
It is at this juncture that I will now apologize to all the veteran workers because I made this judgement based on only short internships.
I love working, but do I love everything work?
I’m finding out that I do not love it all the time.
Welp!
In other exciting news, my work made me sort of popular on twitter (but I nipped it in the bud before it went far, and some comments were extremely unnerving and unnecessary).
My manager also gave me another glowing review.
So, Yaay me!
WORK LESSON
The only lesson is that you should work even when you do not feel like it.
Because.
1. Your income may or may not depend on it.
2. You don’t want a bad review.
3. Trust me, you don’t want to keep carrying work over
4. You’re helping yourself by developing a culture of dedication and responsibility even in the tough times.
EXCERPTS FROM THE WEEK
No excerpts from this week because I spent half of it on the road battling Lagos traffic.
I turn a new age in about 2 weeks, and I want to share 3 full length articles with you, my newsletter community, in celebration.
The articles will be on:
Basics of Product Management
Making the most of your first 90 days at a new job
This third article is on passing job application assessment tests. Like a breakdown of how I was able to pass a major MBB assessment test and also how I passed the assessment for my current role.
I never brag about this because it is unnecessary, but for the purpose of this article I just might.
If you want this 3rd article, let me know via mail, or in the comment section.
Thank you for reading.
See you next week!
